Neste ano, o evento chega à sua quinta edição com várias novidades: além da tradicional participação dos alunos de Engenharia Elétrica, acadêmicos de Ciência da Computação, capitaneados pelo Grupo de Computação, Imagem e Visão (GCG) do curso, marcarão presença no evento com várias equipes.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Outra novidade da quinta edição do evento, que ocorrerá entre os dias 13 e 17 de outubro, é a promoção de duas formas distintas de competição:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&gt;&lt;/span&gt; o já tradicional Futebol de Robôs Autônomos;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&gt;&lt;/span&gt; e uma Prova Especial, na qual um robô autônomo deve sair de um labirinto guiado pela luz de uma lanterna.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Deixando de lado a qualidade e a importância do evento, gostaria de fazer uma crítica à organização das V Olimpíadas de Robôs, devido ao preço cobrado por cada participação individual: R$ 15,00! Tomando como base o fato de que as equipes, em média, são formadas por 5 pessoas, no total são R$ 75,00 por cada time participante, valor bem salgado para uma competição acadêmica e, por conseguinte, sem fins lucrativos. Também é necessário citar que a grande maioria dos alunos que participarão do evento, o farão sem nenhuma ajuda financeira de instituições e órgãos estudantis. Apesar de antigo (1991),  o livro "&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Astronomical Algorithms&lt;/span&gt;", de Jean Meeus, faz uma abordagem completa de diversos problemas sobre astronomia, sob uma visão matemática e computacional. Ou, pelo menos, quem nunca ouviu falar sobre ela?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Foi em 1687 que o físico inglês Sir Isaac Newton publicou em sua obra &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica&lt;/span&gt; (foto), um dos estudos mais importantes da história da Física: a &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Lei da Gravitação Universal&lt;/span&gt;. Tal lei é responsável pela exposição de uma força responsável por manter (juntamente com a Força Elétrica, em determinadas escalas) todo o universo unido: a &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Força Gravitacional&lt;/span&gt;. Quem nunca ouviu falar sobre a pitoresca lenda da maçã caindo na cabeça de Newton e o consequenta descoberta de tal força?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Um artigo muito interessante sobre o tema é o &lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;"Surpresas Sobre a Lei da Gravitação Universal"&lt;/span&gt;, escrito Vitor Macedo, do curso de Informática da UFRJ, tendo Bruno Costa, do Instituto de Matemática aplicada da UFRJ, como orientador. O projeto foi desenvolvido por acadêmicos da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (RS), a partir da linguagem C++ e da biblioteca gráfica, OpenGL.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Particulamente, achei o projeto bastante funcional e útil, mesclando qualidade com simplicidade.
